We are five textile artists - Lyn Abbott, Lorraine Banks, Carol Doubleday, Ken Hall, and Gillian Mould - from the Lake Macquarie area.
Our specialities range from wearable articles such as clothing, scarves, shawls, and ruana/ponchos, to fabrics, floor rugs, homewares and wall hangings.
All articles are individually designed and handwoven using beautiful fibres like silk, alpaca, cotton and fine wools sourced from suppliers worldwide. Lorraine also complements her weaving by using plant materials, chunky fibres and found objects to create hangings and vessels.
Because we each create according to our own individual ideas regarding colour and design, each of our products is entirely unique. We also weave using a variety of different types of looms allowing us to be diverse and adventurous with our designs and methods.
Fibrefest, held annually at Singleton by the Knitters Guild will be held on October 26 and 27 this year.
